It’s back, the oldest match in football history, Scotland v England!
The Auld Enemy come to Hampden in what could be a huge game for Scotland’s hopes of qualifying for the World Cup in 2018. A win could potentially put Scotland up to second in the group and with Lithuania (a) and Malta (h) the next opposition we face, a result could build precious momentum ahead of our last two crucial games against Slovakia (h) and Slovenia (a). A loss wouldn’t kill hopes of qualifying, but it would but a huge dampener on the next few games.
England, on the other hand, can afford to drop points. Their last four games are Malta (a), Slovakia (h), Slovenia (h), and Lithuania (a) and you’d expect them to take at least 10 points. The likelihood of any side catching them and pipping them to the top spot is very unlikely. However, with quality England possess and bragging rights up for grabs, they certainly won’t roll over for us.
