US Open Golf

The US Open will be live here at Sportsters as the World’s best compete for the second major of the year. After Sergio Garcia’s remarkable victory at the Masters, the 2017 US Open will aim to emulate the drama and excitement.

The Open will be held at Erin Hills but will be without a familiar face and presence, Phil Mickelson. Despite it being the only major eluding him for the Grand Slam, he has confirmed that he will not participate as his daughter will be graduating High School on the same day as the tournament starts. However, Rory McIlroy has confirmed he is fit to participate despite sustaining a stress fracture of a rib earlier in the year. He’ll be hoping to add to his 2011 victory in the competition.

Going into the tournament, world number one and reigning champion, Dustin Johnson, is the strong favourite to claim back-to-back victories. This achievement was last managed in 1989 by Curtis Strange. Other favourites include 2015 winner, Jordan Speith, world number three, Jason Day, and 2013 winner, Justin Rose.

All of the US Open action will be live on Sky and shown here at Sportsters. For all the latest news, please click here.
